Display Not Charging? Try These Steps!Updated 3 hours ago

If your Display doesn’t seem to be charging, or isn’t turning on at all, here’s a quick troubleshooting guide to help you out.

🧠 First, a quick check:

  • Is your Display completely unresponsive?
If the screen stays dark even when connected to power, it might be a power issue — not just a charging one.
  • Plugged in but not charging?
Just a heads-up: the Display’s battery icon does not show the charge percentage. It simply confirms the unit is plugged in and receiving power.
  • How long does charging take?
A full charge takes approximately 90 minutes. You can unplug and use the Display freely once it’s topped up.

🧩 Make sure your Display’s firmware is up to date

Sometimes, firmware issues can prevent the Display from powering on or behaving normally. Here’s how to check and update:

  1. Make sure you’ve installed the latest version of the Combustion Inc. app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Ensure your Display is charged.
  3. Make sure only the Display is turned on (put your thermometer to sleep by placing it inside the charger or booster).
  4. Open the Combustion Inc. app.
  5. Tap the “...” icon in the top-right to access Settings.
  6. Tap Update Devices.
  7. Follow the instructions to update your Display and wait for it to complete.

🔄 Still not turning on or charging? Try a Hard Reset

Sometimes a quick reset is all it needs. Here's how:

  1. Locate the buttons: Find the min (–) and Start/Stop buttons on your Display.
  2. Press and hold both buttons together for about 10 seconds.
  3. The Display should restart — and you’re back in business!

If the Display still doesn’t power on after this, please reach out to our support team. Include a brief description of what you’re seeing (or not seeing) + your order number and we’ll take it from there.
