Display Not Charging? Try These Steps!Updated 3 hours ago
If your Display doesn’t seem to be charging, or isn’t turning on at all, here’s a quick troubleshooting guide to help you out.
🧠 First, a quick check:
- Is your Display completely unresponsive?
If the screen stays dark even when connected to power, it might be a power issue — not just a charging one. - Plugged in but not charging?
Just a heads-up: the Display’s battery icon does not show the charge percentage. It simply confirms the unit is plugged in and receiving power. - How long does charging take?
A full charge takes approximately 90 minutes. You can unplug and use the Display freely once it’s topped up.
🧩 Make sure your Display’s firmware is up to date
Sometimes, firmware issues can prevent the Display from powering on or behaving normally. Here’s how to check and update:
- Make sure you’ve installed the latest version of the Combustion Inc. app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Ensure your Display is charged.
- Make sure only the Display is turned on (put your thermometer to sleep by placing it inside the charger or booster).
- Open the Combustion Inc. app.
- Tap the “...” icon in the top-right to access Settings.
- Tap Update Devices.
- Follow the instructions to update your Display and wait for it to complete.
🔄 Still not turning on or charging? Try a Hard Reset
Sometimes a quick reset is all it needs. Here's how:
- Locate the buttons: Find the min (–) and Start/Stop buttons on your Display.
- Press and hold both buttons together for about 10 seconds.
- The Display should restart — and you’re back in business!
