✨ GGG Setup Guide

1. Power On the Gauge

  1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the battery door on the back.
  2. Insert the two included CR2450 batteries with the plus (+) side facing up.
  3. Reattach the battery door and tighten the screw.
  4. Press the yellow power button on the back. The display should turn on.

2. Update Firmware

  1. Download the Combustion Inc app from the iOS App Store or Google Play.
  2. Keep your phone within a few inches of the GGG.
  3. In the app, tap the gear icon → Settings → Update Devices.
  4. Wait until it shows Up-to-date for the Gauge.

⚠️ Only update one device at a time. Keep others turned off or in standby.

3. Assemble the Heat Shield or Heat Deflector

  1. Remove the collar and spring clip from the sensor tube.
  2. Insert the sensor tube into the center of the Heat Shield/Deflector until the plastic bit seats snugly in the silicone housing.
  3. Reattach the spring clip and collar as shown in the guide.
  4. Make sure the assembly feels secure and does not wobble.

4. Mount the Gauge to Your Grill

  1. Remove your old grill thermometer (usually held with a wing nut).
  2. Clean off any residue.
  3. Insert the Heat Shield/Deflector assembly through the same hole.
  4. Secure with the included washer and wing nut.
  5. Do not overtighten—finger-tight is enough.

5. Attach the Gauge Head

  1. Rotate the Gauge so that the buttons are at the bottom of the display.
  2. Snap it onto the Heat Shield/Deflector.
  3. Ensure the unit is centered on the silicone disc.
  4. Once properly seated, the GGG will display the current ambient temperature.

6. Link to Your Predictive Thermometer (CPT)

  1. Turn on the Giant Grill Gauge.
  2. Remove your Predictive Thermometer from its charger.
  3. Place it next to the GGG for a few seconds.
  4. A linked thermometer will show its temperature on the lower screen.
    • Each GGG can link with up to 4 Predictive Thermometers.

7. Connect to WiFi

  1. Open the Combustion app → Settings → WiFi Devices.
  2. Select your Gauge, then tap Join Network.
  3. Choose your WiFi (2.4g) and enter your password.
  4. When setup is complete, you’ll see the signal strength displayed.

8. Storage Tips

  • The GGG is removable—you can use one Gauge with multiple mounts.
  • In mild climates, you may leave it on your grill.
  • In freezing climates (below -4ºF / -20ºC), store indoors to protect the electronics.

You’re ready to cook!
