How to update firmware (CPT, Display, and Booster)Updated a month ago

Firmware updates help your Combustion tools stay accurate, reliable, and ready for new features. This guide shows you how to update the firmware on your Predictive Thermometer (CPT), Display, and Booster using the Combustion Inc. app.

Before You Start

• Make sure you’ve installed the latest version of the Combustion Inc. app from the App Store or Google Play.
• ❗Ensure each tool is charged before starting the update.❗
• Update one tool at a time in this order:

1. Predictive Thermometer (CPT)
2. Display
3. Booster

⚠️ Note: The Booster will NOT update if it's currently holding a thermometer. Remove the thermometer before starting.

Quick Method

When an update is available, the app will usually display a notification banner at the top of the home screen.

To update quickly:

1. Tap the Update banner.
2. Follow the prompts.
3. Let the update finish.
4. Repeat for each device.

Manual Update Steps

If you don’t see a banner or want to update manually:

1. Open the Combustion Inc. app.
2. Tap the  "..." icon for settings.
3. Tap Update Devices.
4. Select the tool you want to update.
5. Wait for the update to finish.
6. Repeat the steps for the next device.
7. Recharge each device after updating.

Troubleshooting Tips

• If the update doesn’t complete, force close the app and reopen it.
• Try again with one device at a time.
• Keep your phone close to the device during the update.
