Giant Grill Gauge (GGG) Explained!Updated 4 days ago
🔥 What is the Giant Grill Gauge?
The Giant Grill Gauge (GGG) is a high-precision, WiFi-enabled thermometer that replaces standard analog dome thermometers on grills and smokers. It connects to the Combustion App and supports the Predictive Thermometer and Combustion Engine. The GGG provides reliable, long-range temperature visibility for your cooks.
🧠Key Features
- Measures up to 1000°F with high accuracy using a platinum RTD sensor.
- WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity to extend the range of your Predictive Thermometers.
- Part of the Combustion MeatNet™ mesh network, allowing data sharing across supported devices.
- Detachable magnetic display for flexible placement and easy reading.
- Smart temperature alarms viewable on both the app and the GGG display.
- Supports fan control when paired with the Combustion Engine.
- Weather-resistant, but recommended to store indoors when not in use.
📡 Connectivity
The GGG acts as a bridge between Bluetooth and WiFi. If you have any WiFi-capable device in your setup—whether that’s the GGG, WiFi Display, or Booster—it can send data from up to four Predictive Thermometers to the cloud, even when your phone is out of Bluetooth range.
🧲 Mounting Options
There are two mounting systems available:
- Heat Shield: Best for top-mounted installations and high-temperature cooking. It can handle up to 750°F of lid temp.Â
- Heat Deflector: Designed for front-mounted gauges or insulated grills. It can handle up to 600°F of lid temp.Â
If in doubt, choose the Heat Shield. There’s no real downside to having a bit more heat protection, unless you really like the slim profile.Â
âś… GGG Compatibility Table
Here is an incomplete list of grills and smokers that are CONFIRMED compatible. Our goal is for the GGG to work with as many grills as possible; if your grill is unlisted, don’t panic! It’s likely compatible, but just not tested yet.Â
