GGG: Compatible Grills and SmokersUpdated 4 days ago
The Giant Grill Gauge replaces the analog dome thermometer on most grills and smokers. This page lists the ones we have confirmed and the two things worth checking on any grill before you order.
Two things to check first
Whether the Gauge fits usually comes down to these, and both are easy to measure while your existing thermometer is still in place.
How wide is the existing hole? The Gauge's sensor tube is 3.8 mm, and its mount covers a hole up to about 1/4". If your factory thermometer sits in a noticeably wider opening, the mount may not cover the gap once you take the old unit out, which can let smoke and air escape. Measure the hole before you remove anything.
Does the lid have room for the tube? The sensor tube is 86 mm (3.39") long, which is longer than some OEM probes. On grills where the lid swings across the cooking chamber, or where the original probe sat behind a heat shield, a longer tube can foul the lid mechanism. Compare the length of your existing probe before ordering.
If either one looks marginal, email us with your grill make and model and a photo before you take anything apart.
Confirmed compatible
An incomplete list, and it grows as owners report back. If your grill is not here, it is most likely untested rather than incompatible.

Fit issues other owners have reported
These grills are on the list above, and they work, but owners have run into something worth knowing in advance.
| Grill | What to expect |
| Kamado Joe Big Joe | The factory probe hole is wider than the Gauge's tube, so you may see a gap and some air or smoke leakage |
| Weber Summit Kamado | Same. The hole left by the factory thermometer can be wider than the mount covers |
| Weber Kettle | If you mount through the top vent and then use the kettle as a smoker, expect some gaps |
| Napoleon Prestige | On some Prestige models the Gauge's tube is longer than the OEM probe and can interfere with the lid mechanism |
| Slow 'N Sear kettles | Owners report a loose fit and some air leakage |
If you hit any of these, get in touch. Tell us the grill and send a photo, and we will tell you what other owners have done and what we are working on.

My grill is not on either list
That is normal, and it usually still fits.
- Measure your existing thermometer hole and compare your existing probe length, as above
- Print the template in Will It Fit? Fitment Guide for the Giant Grill Gauge and hold it against the mounting area
- Email us at [email protected] with the make, model, and a photo
We add grills to this list as they are confirmed, so telling us about yours helps the next person with the same grill.
Ceramic grills
Never drill a ceramic grill. Ceramic cracks, and the crack keeps going. Kamados almost always have an existing thermometer hole and take an adapter plate instead, as noted in the table. If yours has no hole at all, contact us first.
Still have a question?
Email [email protected] with your grill make and model, a photo of the mounting area, and the diameter of the existing thermometer hole.
