Do I need to calibrate my Predictive Thermometer?Updated 8 months ago

Great question! Let's dive into this:

Calibration:

Good news! Our sensors are designed with a zero-calibration circuit. This means they don't typically need calibration. We do thoroughly check each thermometer during manufacturing.

Quick accuracy check:

  • Fill an insulated cup with ice, then add just enough cold water to fill the gaps.
  • Stir the mixture with your thermometer for about 30 seconds.
  • All submerged sensors should read close to 32°F (0°C), within a couple tenths of a degree.
  • If you're seeing different results, please let us know!

Possible causes of inaccuracy:

  • Sometimes, the thermometer might select the wrong sensor as the core sensor.
  • This can happen if it misses the core by just 1/4 inch.
  • Inserting the thermometer after cooking has started or removing and repositioning it during cooking can sometimes confuse the algorithm.
